Ellen Guhin is a makeup artist in New York City. She has a Fine Arts background and graduated college with a BFA in Sculpture. Her interest in makeup as an art form blossomed while studying the works of artists like Cindy Sherman and Marilyn Minter. Using her sculpture background, she was determined to apply her knowledge of composition, color and balance to all things makeup.
Right out of makeup school she began assisting several artists with varying techniques and styles. She assisted artists at top agencies such as Art Partner, Art Department and See Management, to name a few. She worked many seasons of NYFW and participated on the teams of Dick Page, Mark Carrasquillo and Alice Lane. These experiences laid the ground work for her career and helped lead her to where she is today. She currently works with a wide variety of photographers, designers, publications, production companies and corporations. For Ellen, the joy of being an artist; is the process of collaboration and finding a solution to the problem.
